According to Inspired Entertainment's own account, there were about 1.7 million people who watched the Kentucky Derby: Triple Crown Showdown virtually this past weekend.

The big winner of the online race was the Secretariat, 47 years after its victory in the Kentucky Derby, held at Churchill Downs in 1973.

The edition of this Kentucky Derby special was held at the Chirchull Downs national party and broadcast by NBC. The event served well as an alternative to preserve the tradition of the race.

“This was a great event for everyone involved in the traditional Derby day. Racing fans saw the best of all time. We had the opportunity to show the realism of our virtual horse race. And, it was all for a good cause ”- Reported Inspired president and chief operating officer, Brooks Pierce.

"The virtual sports industry has been popular in Europe for years, but putting together the Kentucky Derby: Triple Crown Showdown for a national television broadcast was a great marketing opportunity even to reach the US market" - He added.

Although the race was broadcasted on TV, social media also enjoyed the Kentucky Derby at Home. "This was a great example of how virtual sports can fill the gap and bring people together during these difficult times, just like traditional sports."
