Didi, for starters, tell us a little about yourself and your sports betting experience. When was this present in your life?
I believe I've been in the middle of sports betting for around ten or eleven. It's hard to talk about when this started to be present in my life, it's been a while.
How did the idea of creating a multiple bet appear? What criteria did you choose to place this bet?
I almost always do multiples. But I always average six to seven games, sometimes I bet on a few more... sometimes less. Personally, I was never one to play single bets. But I know it's ideal, right. The people who teach today, make simple bets. However, these multiple bets, when they work, they are very good.
Looking at the criteria you've chosen, would you say multiples are part of your methods as a punter?
I would say they do. Multiple bets are part of my betting methods. For those who want a short-term answer, it is an excellent option.
In your ten years as a gambler, is this match among your greatest greens in life?
This was one of my biggest greens yes. But I've already won some other big bets too.
What do you think about value: betting big on small amounts of bets or betting small on large amounts?
I think the ideal is to try to bet big in small amounts, that's ideal. For example, three to four games would be really nice. But for those who don't have a lot of money, they would have to bet on more games.
For the audience following our conversation, what advice would you give to those just starting out or even those who have been on the sports betting journey for some time?
For those starting out, it's good to start small. For example, trade in two or three games at most. Of course single bets are better even in the long run, but in the short run multiples are great.
For many gamblers, multiples are a waste of time. What do you have to say to these people, in view of your successful bet?
I know a lot of people who don't like multiples anyway. But for those who think it's a waste of time, I don't think so. You invest money there and develop your method. It's hard to keep yourself always good and profitable, just like everyone else, but I don't think it's a waste of time.
Finally, at the age of 50, what has sports betting brought to your life?
Sports betting has brought a poker club into my life, where I have a lot of clients, including VIPS. We have a restaurant to serve the people who come here. We have a bar, too. So, customers end up coming here, placing a bet with me. We have three TVs here to watch the games and still enjoy poker.
Aside from sports betting, you have a poker club too, right? So, tell us a little about your experience with the sport and how to find/be part of your club?
Yes, the Alfa Poker Club. It stays here in Porto Alegre. But at the moment I'm looking into changing the building to have a bigger space to accommodate the staff etc. When everything is fine, people will know how to be a part of it.
