One of the most renowned companies in the betting market, Entain, recently revealed that it is hoping to invest in Brazil, after the regulation of the gaming sector in the country. According to one of Entain's representatives, the company is waiting for the next episodes on the regulation of betting in Brazil in order to obtain a license to operate and invest in Brazil.

Entain, which owns the betting brand Bwin and other sports betting brands, was joined by Vice President of Government Affairs Martin Lycka in a recent interview. According to Entain's prospects, Lycka noted: “We look forward to the signing of the presidential decree to regulate sports betting as soon as possible, and then we will have all the interest in the world to apply for a license in Brazil.”

“I think it is very important to hold an event like this to discuss the regulation of sports betting that is about to happen. It is the best time to discuss, during a football event, topics related to sports betting and the entire ecosystem that involves this industry, including regulation.”
Then, Lycka commented on Sportingbet and Betboo brands being in great expansion for Brazilians, even though there is still no necessary regulation for betting brands. In his speech, the representative of Entain stressed: “We are waiting for the signing of the presidential decree to regulate sports betting as soon as possible, and then we will have all the interest in the world to apply for a license in Brazil.”
In addition, Lycka was asked whether Entain will only invest in the Sportingbet and Betboo brands to provide services in Brazil. In response, Lycka said: “It is quite likely that we will focus on brands already operating in the market, but we have not yet made a final decision.”
Meanwhile, the Entain representative was asked how the operations of both brands are doing in Brazil, and in response, Lycka said: “they are very well established in the Brazilian market, but with the regulation we will gain even more legal certainty.”
